Cheney recently gloated, in a televised interview, about authorizing the torture of prisoners. He also said "he is set to plunge into his own memoirs, feeling liberated to describe behind-the-scenes roles over several decades in government now that the 'statute of limitations has expired'" (http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0209/18390.html). He was not being tortured when he confessed to war crimes.

The only way to leave the last 8 dark years behind is to hold Cheney et al. accountable: and that means retroactive impeachment for treason and turning them over to the War Crimes Tribunal. Again, only by exposing these heinous crimes to the light of day--and holding the perpetrators accountable--can we begin a new day in American history, one that signifies a return to the rule of law.
