NO to financial ruination and enormous human suffering and social upheaval. YES to the President's stimulus package: it is imperfect--but far better thought out and seems more transparent than Paulson's plunder. Send the republicans to a part of a Pacific island that has, in the last 8 years, been reclaimed by the ocean.
YES to writing and passing a new law, one that would repeal the TARP bailout: make the bankers and the brokers give back their ill-gotten monies. Then nationalize or liquidate the banks--and let the bankers hang with the republicans.
