A-HA! We've nailed the problem. Let me explain below. There are three ways professionals are notified about projects - searching themselves, Project Notifications (sent by Guru.com's system), and Project Invitations (sent by the employers, themselves). The text, "Regardless of your location, your bid will land in the employer's Invited box" was mistakenly programmed to trigger and display in response to both Project Notifications and Project Invitations. It should only have been trigged for Project Invitations. Our developers are correcting this mistake now. I am not sure if you are happy to know the answer to the problem or disappointed because this means that you were not, in fact, receiving Invitations but Notifications. Albeit a long, convoluted process, the benefits to this happening are:
1. You caught a mistake in our system that no one else noticed, including us. Thank you!!
2. You don't have to worry about Invitations not reaching you.
3. The bids/proposals you submitted are reaching the employers - there is no glitch in that process.
